Curriculum & Environment

We strive to make learning FUN for The Academy at WellSpring’s kids, but we’re also very serious about giving children the education, attention, and care that they deserve.

We believe that kids excel when they’re placed in an intellectually-engaging environment with teachers who are able to provide personal attention. That’s why a variety of kid-friendly educational toys and creative play centers fill our classrooms. We also strive for a 1:10 teacher-to-student ratio for children at or above four years old, a 1:8 ratio for our three year olds and a 1:6 teacher-to-student ratio in our twos. We have many wonderful assistants who help throughout the day.

Each day at The Academy at WellSpring includes morning praise and prayer time, Music & Movement class, active play (indoors and out, weather permitting), instructional time, art, snacks, lunch, and rest time (for younger children).  Each month, curriculum for our three age levels rotates to a new, unique  theme. Monthly themes have a general education component (e.g.–lessons from science, nature, math, etc.) as well as a biblical component from the First Look curriculum.  This curriculum provides a new Bible story focus, memory verse, and activities each month.  First Look is designed so that each preschooler will grow up believing that God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
