Pre-K

In the blink of an eye, our little bundles of joy have grown into big kids.  They’re almost ready to enter kindergarten…and we do our best to prepare them.

For these ages, we continue to expose children to activities that:

    • Strengthen their gross motor skills
    • Begin to develop their fine motor skills
    • Expose them to the use of numbers, letters, colors and shapes
    • Encourage them to be creative through hands on crafts and play
    • Promote their social and interpersonal skills
    • Strengthen their writing capability
    • Introduce them to early pre-math
    • Encourage them to listen and follow directions
    • Introduce them to beginning scissor skills
    • Enhance their social and interpersonal skills
    • Help them learn that the Bible is God’s true Word
    • Teach them that the Bible helps us learn more about God
    • Reveal God to them as both their loving Creator and the Creator of the world
    • Help them make a distinction between the Old and New Testament
    • Enable them to understand a basic timeline of the Bible
    • Reassure them that they are unique, special, and that God will always love them

To help get our pre-K students kindergarten-ready, we also introduce activities that:

    • Increase their understanding of and use of numbers, letters, colors and shapes
    • Enhance their scissor skills
    • Allow them to sort, sequence, group, and identify
    • Help them to follow directions
    • Advance their counting and pre-math skills
    • Teach them to recognize their name
    • Help them learn their phone number, address, and parents’ names
    • Introduce them to “sight words”
    • Introduce them to science
    • Experience many gross motor activities
    • Strengthen fine motor skills
    • Lovingly instill expectations for the child to be honest, fair and responsible
    • Prepare them to retell Bible stories and recall memory verses
    • Challenge them to help others and be a part of God’s work
